PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission e-mail filter device and an e-mail filtering method capable of realizing an e-mail filtering device with less delay concerning e-mail transfer and without requiring a large storage capacity. SOLUTION: An e-mail filtering mechanism 13 monitors an e-mail to be carried by a packet which has been received by a network interface 11A and transferred from a client to a server computer according to a preset filtering rule, judges whether the e-mail is to be canceled or transferred and instructs a packet transfer mechanism 12 to transfer or cancel the e-mail according to the judgment. The e-mail filtering mechanism 13 further instructs a dummy e-mail server 14 for continuation of reception and instructs a dummy e-mail client 15 for interruption of transmission.
