PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film scanner capable of avoiding wasteful consumption of power in a light source in the case of carrying out scanning. SOLUTION: A light source unit is configured to include: a light emitting diode array comprising a plurality of light emitting diodes 9 arranged in a line along the main scanning direction; a scanning setting means for acquiring a size of a photo film F supported by a film carrier unit in the case of carrying out the scanning; and a light emission control circuit that makes the light emitting diodes emit light in all regions Y when the size is a 120/220 size, and makes the light emitting diodes emit light in a middle region X when the size is other than the 120/220 size.
