PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a urethane foam which emits negative ions and in which the amount of a negative ion-generating substance to be added can be increased without affecting the moldability of the urethane foam, and which also uses a negative ion-generating substance other than radioactive substances such as a rare earth element. SOLUTION: The urethane foam is a polyurethane foam which is characterized in that a white coal type bamboo coal powder is used as matrix particles, and in that a composite material, which is obtained by fixing an inorganic particle powder to the surface of the matrix particles, is dispersed and retained into the urethane foam, wherein in particular the inorganic particle powder is a mineral powder and/or a ceramic powder. For example, such a polyurethane foam which emits negative ions is formed from a polyol component, which is obtained by using a white coal type bamboo coal powder as matrix particles and by evenly dispersing a composite material that is fixed with a mineral powder and/or a ceramic powder onto the surface of the matrix particles, and from an isocyanate compound.
