MOLDED LENS AND METAL MOLD FOR MOLDED LENS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded lens for an optical pickup apparatus and a metal mold for the molded lens capable of miniaturizing the molded lens and suppressing an adverse effect caused by burrs.

SOLUTION: The molded lens is provided with an incident surface having a first optical surface and an outgoing surface having a second optical surface. The outer circumferential shape is constituted with a first linear part nearly parallel to a plane including an optical axis, a second linear part which is parallel to the first linear part and is symmetrical to the first linear part across the plane and two arc parts which connect the end parts of the first linear part and second linear part by themselves. Further, one part of the periphery of a first optical surface and a second optical surface of a nearly circular shape centered with respect to the optical axis is cut off by the first linear part and the second linear part.
