<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a large amount of GlcNAc nucleotide and GalNAc nucleotide on an industrial scale at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the GlcNAc nucleotide or the GalNAc nucleotide at least contains the step of contacting the GalNAc nucleotide or the GlcNAc nucleotide with (A) a protein containing a specific amino acid sequence or (B) a protein containing an amino acid sequence corresponding to the amino acid sequence of the protein (A) provided that one or several number of amino acids are deleted, substituted, inserted or dislocated and having an activity to convert UDP-GalNAc to UDP-GlcNAc or convert UDP-GlcNAc to UDP-GalNAc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
