<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery which uses a negative electrode active material employing magnesium as the base and has a high capacity and is highly safe. <P>SOLUTION: This is the non-aqueous electrolyte battery which comprises a positive electrode containing carbon fluoride as an active material, a negative electrode containing at least one of magnesium metal, magnesium alloy, magnesium oxide, silicon, carbon, and transition metal sulfide, and a non-aqueous electrolyte containing a magnesium salt such as bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide magnesium or trifluoromethane-sulfonate magnesium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
