<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform smooth air traffic control by determining the position and the altitude of a vessel. <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring radar 1 monitors the position of the vessel on the sea surface by emitting a radio wave 101, while scanning horizontally, and a laser 2 monitors the altitude of the vessel by emitting a laser beam 102 at a prescribed vertical angle, while scanning horizontally synchronously with the monitoring radar 1, and a signal processing device 5 determines existence of an obstacle to the flying of an airplane taking off from or landing at an airport adjacent to the sea surface based on the vessel position monitored by the monitoring radar 1 and the vessel altitude monitored by the laser 2, and displays the determination result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
