PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a roof safely and economically in a short time by omitting the work of extending a roof material at the ridge part in a construction job site. SOLUTION: In this construction method of a roof, a roof material is constructed so that a hook part 2 bent U-shaped is formed in the longitudinal direction at one cross-direction end, and a groove is formed in the longitudinal direction at the other cross-direction end, two or more roof materials are used, the hook part 2 of the upper roof material is fitted in the groove part of the lower roof material to sequentially construct the roof materials from the lower stage toward the upper stage. According to this construction method of a roof, in the roof material 1 used as the roof material for the ridge part, the groove part is not formed, and the cross-direction other end is flat.
