PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube which has little variations in mounting lug position and has high accuracy of lug positions by eliminating slipping of the reinforcing band. SOLUTION: The reinforcing band 3 is directly shrink-fitted to the panel 1. The joint part 7 of the reinforcing band 3 is welded and fixed by a band joint plate 4 by projection welding. Thereby, even when the reinforcing band 3 is shrink-fitted to the panel, friction resistance between the panel 1 and the reinforcing band 3 is not decreased, thereby slipping of the reinforcing band 3 can be eliminated.
