PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a false body odor composition having a smell near to the actual smell of sweat, especially the peculiar smell secreted from apocrine gland, and enabling the masking, the control or the like of the smell of the sweat, the smell of armpits, etc., to be precisely evaluated; and to provide a method for evaluating the effects of the masking and the harmonizing of the smell of the sweat, the smell of the armpits, etc., and the deodorant effects by using the composition. SOLUTION: The false body odor composition contains (A) at least one kind selected from (A-1) a 5-8C hydroxyalkynylcarboxylic acid and (A-2) a 5-8C alkenylcarboxylic acid having one double bond, (B) at least one kind selected from 2-24C fatty acids, and (C) at least one kind selected from 2-13C aldehydes. The effects of the masking or the harmonizing by a test object, and the deodorant effects by the test object are evaluated by using the composition, for example, by a cup method.
