PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a semi-IPN(interpenetrating network)-type composite comprising a crosslinked-type silicone resin and a radical polymerization polymer such as a straight-chain acrylic polymer without the need of using any organotin compound. SOLUTION: The method for producing the semi-IPN-type composite comprises carrying out a polymerization of a homogeneous mixture comprising (A-1) a terminal silanol group-containing polysiloxane of general formula(1)( wherein, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each methyl, ethyl or phenyl ) or general formula(2)( wherein, R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>and R<SB>4</SB>are each methyl, ethyl or phenyl ), (A-2) a tetraalkyl orthosilicate of general formula(3)( wherein, R<SB>5</SB>is a 1-6C alkyl ) and (B) at least one radical-polymerizable monomer, wherein the reaction between the components (A-1) and (A-2) is carried out using an acid catalyst.
