The machine, having a working zone (7) equipped with a grinder/polisher (8) for objects, especially the soles of orthopedic footwear, has a suction zone (10) leading to a collector for the dust produced by the machining operations. It also has a fan to create an air flow, and a system (9) for guiding the air flow along a predetermined path through the working zone and towards the suction zone. The dust collector and fan are located inside a cabinet under the working zone, with the guide in the form of a housing (40) covering the working zone and grinder/polisher drive.
