<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a remarkable improvement in the deterioration of an image or the like by accurately measuring toner charge used as developer in an electrophotographic device without coming into contact and making optimum setting for the unit of each process. <P>SOLUTION: A method possesses a potential detection process to detect the potential of a latent image formed on a photoreceptor 2, a developing process to perform development by depositing the toner on the latent image and a deposit amount detection process to detect the deposit amount of the toner, and the deposit amounts of the toner are respectively detected by changing developing bias for at least twice in the developing process, and the toner charge is calculated from the deposits amount of the toner and toner depositing potential obtained from a data base based on the potential of the latent image detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
