摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce the cost of a single plate type projection liquid crystal display device with high light efficiency and with no color filter without lowering the light efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel unit 2 is provided with a microlens substrate 1 having a first microlens array consisting of first lenses 5 to converge a plurality of luminous fluxes being incident with various angles on opening parts 17R, G, B which correspond to pixels of a liquid crystal display element and a second microlens array consisting of a second lenses 7 parallelizing respective principal rays of a plurality of the luminous fluxes on the light incident side.
