<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinates input device whereby various operation on a screen can be carried out where practicable with one finger, and the number of operations reduced thus giving a marked improvement in user operability. <P>SOLUTION: A specific area is set on an operating surface SF arranged in the coordinates input devices. When the specific area is tapped with the finger, a processing signal obtained by emulating processing to depress, for example, a right button RB is outputted.
