PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic inspection method capable of accurately detecting the size of a defect in an inspection section near a fillet weld region of an object to be inspected. SOLUTION: In the method, two probes 14a, 14b are arranged on a surface of the object 11 about the inspection section of the object 11 at approximately identical distances while keeping a prescribed angle in relation to each other, and one probe 14a transmits ultrasonic waves so that reflected waves reflected by a backside of the object 11 are directed toward the inspection section, and the other probe 14b receives waves which are transmitted from the probe 14a and in turn reflected by the backside of the object 11, the test section and another backside of the object 11, thereby inspecting the inspection section of the object 11 based on the waves received by the other probe 14b.
