PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device which performs a secure retracting operation while the size of the disk device is small. SOLUTION: In the disk device 1, when electric power is interrupted, electric power required for operation which moves a head 7 to a prescribed retreat position on a disk 5 or of the outside of the disk is supplied to a head driving part 17, and also electric power required for operation which rotates the disk 5 whilst the head 7 is moved to the prescribed retreat position is supplied to a disk driving part 19 from an electrochemistry capacitor 33.
