METHOD FOR FORMING SPACER OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a spacer in a liquid crystal display at a low cost and accurately positioning the spacer on a light transmission impossible region of the liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The method for forming the spacer of the liquid crystal display comprises: a step to prepare a transparent substrate in which a matrix driving circuit is arranged on its surface and the light transmission impossible region and a light transmission enable region defined by the driving circuit are formed thereon; a step to apply a positive resist on the surface of the transparent substrate; a step to expose a rear surface of the transparent substrate by using the light transmission impossible region of the transparent substrate as a mask pattern; a step to expose the surface of the transparent substrate by using a mask by which the pattern is formed so as to partly overlap the light transmission region of the transparent substrate; and a step to remove the exposed positive resist by developing to form the remaining positive resist part as the spacer.
