PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having good solubility in an aqueous medium and good photostability and giving satisfactory cosmetic properties. SOLUTION: The compound is represented by general formula (1) [wherein, R1, R1' and R1" are the same as or different from each other one of which is (i) chromophore such as formula (2) (wherein, R2is a straight chain or branched 1-8C alkyl; n is 0, 1 or 2; and A is an alkali metal type cation or the like) or (ii) OH, and one or plural number of which are oxygen atoms or the like].
