PURPOSE: A power control method using control information in a mobile communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to allow a base station to perform external circulation power controlling according to error detection information with respect to control information on a traffic channel received from a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: 8-bit control information generated for every frame is stored in a control information storing unit(910). A CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Code) generator(950) generates 8-bit CRC by using control information generated from the latest four frames. The generated 8-bit CRC is inputted to and stored in a CRC storing unit(960) until the next CRC is generated. 8-bit control information transmitted for every frame is inputted together with 2 bits, that has not been transmitted yet, of the CRC generated from the previous frame to a coder and coded therein(920).
