TWO DIMENSIONAL PHOTONIC CRYSTAL CAVITY AND CHANNEL ADD/DROP FILTER, IN WHICH Q VALUE IS IMPROVED

PURPOSE: Two dimensional photonic crystal cavity and a channel add/drop filter are provided to improve the Q value and the wavelength resolution by combining the cavity and the waveguide. CONSTITUTION: Two dimensional photonic crystal cavity includes a plate(1), a throughhole(2) and a cavity(4). The cavity is made of a plurality of defects in the shape of point. The normal portion of the two dimensional photonic crystal has a small refraction index at the set two dimensional grating points in the plate and a low refraction index material of the same dimension is arranged. The point shape defect is provided with at least 3 adjacent grating points and the low refraction index material does not include into the grating points. Two dimensional photonic crystal cavity is characterized in that the dimension of the low refraction index material arranged corresponding to the most adjacent point shape defect among the grating points is changed into a predetermined dimension.
