<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse wave detector capable of outputting a pulse wave detected from a living body as an audible sound. <P>SOLUTION: The detector is provided with: a pressure pulse wave sensor 30 for detecting the pulse wave detected from the living body and outputting a pulse wave signal SM expressing the pulse wave; a signal conversion means 78 for converting the pulse wave signal SM to a signal in an audible frequency band by modulating the frequency of a wave to be modulated having a predetermined audible frequency with the pulse wave signal SM outputted from the sensor 30 as a modulation signal, and a speaker 62 for outputting the signal converted by the conversion means 78. Though the pulse wave signal SM detected by the sensor 30 cannot be heard as sound as it is, since it is partially lower than an audible band, the pulse wave is converted to the audible sound to be outputted from the speaker 62, and the frequency of the sound is varied in accordance with the size of the pulse wave in this case. Consequently, arteriosclerosis etc. can be diagnosed on the basis of variation of the level of sound outputted from the speaker 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
