<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment specifying an original document file corresponding to a document from image data of the document as a copy object, performing printing on the basis on the file for preventing deterioration in image quality, and executing vectorization processing for registering an unregistered document for reducing deterioration in the image quality in an early step. <P>SOLUTION: If an original digital file cannot be specified, it is converted into a data format usable again by application (S55) by vectorization processing (S56) to be registered in a file server (S56). Since the location by this registration is decided, its location information is synthesized into a read image by means of an identifier such as a two-dimensional bar code (S48). Consequently, the document can be printed (S49), and the registered electronic file can be specified easily when the printed document is scanned again.
