PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect land mines buried in the earth, without causing danger to life. SOLUTION: A land mine detecting system comprises a traveling car 2 and a control main part device 6, and the traveling car 2 includes a detecting means 3 of detecting the shape data of a buried material in the earth, a location-reading means 4 of reading the detecting location of the buried material accurately, and a transmitting means 5 of transmitting the shape data of the buried material and the location information data thereof. A decision part 7 decides whether the buried material is the land mine, based on the shape data, when the control main part 6 receives the location information data of the buried material and the shape data thereof from the traveling car 2.
