PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing chondroitin sulfate-iron colloid of small average particle size in good working efficiency. SOLUTION: This method comprises, while continuously pouring an alkaline aqueous solution of a predetermined concentration into an aqueous solution of chondroitin sulfate under stirring, adding an aqueous solution of ferric chloride intermittently by using a pH controller so that the pH of the mixed solution is kept in a predetermined range of alkaline side, preferably around 9-11, with pH variation width of about 0.2.
