<p>Compositions and methods for controlling plant-infesting acari with plant extracts and notably with compositions comprising oil extracts from Chenopodiacae and more particularly Chenopodium ambrosioides are disclosed, wherein the compositions comprising such extracts as acaricidal compositions display a potent effect on Tetranychidae (mites) and provide the advantages of minimal development of resistance thereto, minimal toxicity to mammals, minimal residual activity and environmental compatibility. These compositions also display insecticidal activity on plant-infesting insects. In an especially preferred embodiment, the plant acaricidal composition comprises a-terpinene, p-cymene, limonene, ascaridole, iso-ascaridole, thymol and carvacrol.</p> |
