A benzimidazole of formula (I) wherein: R1 represents fluoroalkyl; R2 represents hydrogen or alkyl; R3 represents alkyl; X1-4 independently of one another represent hydrogen, halogen, halogenoalkyl, halogenoalkylthio or halogenoalkylsulfonyl or X2 and X3 or X3 and X4 together represent a dioxyhaloalkylene. Also covered is the use of said benzimidazole in the preparation of a composition for controlling parasites.
