PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorimetric method of a color sample which can dye a fibrous material accurately color matched to the color phase of the color sample and to provide a method for manufacturing the fibrous material, such as a carpet or the like accurately color matched to the color phase of the color sample. SOLUTION: The colorimetric method of the color sample 1 is performed by illuminating a visible light to the front surface of the color sample 1, receiving a diffuse reflection light 3 reflected from the color sample 1 and measuring a spectral reflectivity. Then, the distributing prescription of a dye is decided based on this spectral reflectivity, and the fibrous material, such as the carpet or the like is dyed by using a dye bath mixed based on the distributing prescription of the dye. The colorimetry is preferably any of the ranges of an incident angle (α) of 8°to less than 23°and a photodetecting angle (β) of -45°to -5°, the ranges of the incident angle of 23°to less than 38°and the light receiving angle of -25°to -5°and the ranges of the incident angle of 38°to less than 82°and the light receiving angle of -15°to +15°.
