PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the cooling efficiency of a rotary electric machine by preventing leakage of cooling air, from the gap between a radial fan and a coil end cover. SOLUTION: The radial fan 3 for generating cooling air is attached to the end of a rotor, and also a stator core 7, counterposed to the rotor, is provided with the coil end cover 8. Furthermore, a wind breaker panel 9 is attached to the radial fan 3, and also the space part between this wind breaker panel 9 and the coil end cover 8 is sealed with a lubricating fluid 10, thereby preventing the leakage of cooling air, due to the difference in the air pressures between the inside and the outside of the coil end cover 8.
