PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester monofilament having a good color tone (a color b value), produceable while causing a very small amount of a material attached to a spinneret even after a long-time continuous spinning through the spinneret, and having reduced unevenness of a fiber diameter. SOLUTION: The monofilament is composed of a polyester polymer. The polyester polymer is obtained by polycondensing an aromatic dicarboxylate in the presence of a catalyst containing a specific titanium compound and phosphorus compound. The molar ratio of the content of phosphorus element to the content of titanium element is 1-15, and the content of the total thereof per repeating unit is 10-100 mmol%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
