PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Sn based surface treated steel sheet which does not contain Pb at all, is also provided with satisfactory wettability with Pb-free solder, further has no generation of whiskers at all, and has excellent corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: An Ni layer with a coating weight of 0.1 to 4.4 g/m2and an Sn-Bi alloy layer comprising 0.1 to 57 mass% Bi are formed at least on one side of the surfaces of a steel sheet in order from the steel sheet side.
