PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer having a set arbitrary amount of a polymerizable functional group in the repeating units, and to provide its production process. SOLUTION: The polymer is obtained from a conjugated alkenyl monomer having a double bond conjugated with an aromatic ring. The repeating unit contains a double bond conjugated with the aromatic ring. The conjugated alkenyl monomer has, via an oxygen atom, an organic group at least one of the ortho- and para-positions relative to the substituting position of the double bond conjugated with the aromatic ring.
