A coupling connecting metal (1) and ceramic (7) pipes comprises a refractory steel cylinder (5) with high thermal resistance fixed and sealed to the metal pipe and containing two sets of gaskets (3, 3') round the end of the ceramic pipe, with a spacer (4) between them and an end compression ring (6). An injector (8) delivers a fluid between the two sets of gaskets to apply a differential pressure to each of them.
