POROUS BETA-TRICALCIUM PHOSPHATE GRANULE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide porous β-TCP under such circumstances that there is a demand for identifying a biomaterial capable of being applied to a missing part and capable of powerfully enhancing a regeneration process especially in the case where it is used in conjunction with other bioactive agents (e.g. osteogenetic proteins and other related factors), and there is a demand for identifying and using a matrix acting on a bioactive agent as a mechanically durable carrier and being a very tough bone substitute material supporting therapy.

SOLUTION: The porous β-TCP is provided with a porous body of β-tricalcium phosphate containing a plurality of pores and is characterized in that each of the pores is a single discrete void having a pore diameter size of 20 to 500 μm.
