<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and reproduce absorbance changes in the number of specific vibration of an infrared wavelength region, by recording information by using light of visible light to ultraviolet wavelength light to optical recording medium, using a photochromic compound. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a recording layer containing at least one compound selected from among compounds expressed in general formula (I). In the general formula (I), R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>independently denote a directly chained or branched alkyl group of 1-6 of the number of carbons or a directly chained or branched alkoxy group of 1-6 of the number of carbons; X<SP>1</SP>and X<SP>2</SP>independently denote sulfur atoms or oxygen atoms. Y<SP>1</SP>and Y<SP>2</SP>independently denote nitrogen atoms or a -CR<SP>5</SP>- group (where R<SP>5</SP>denotes hydrogen atoms or an arbitrary substitutional group); R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>independently denote hydrogen atoms or an arbitrary substitutional group. When Y<SP>1</SP>and/or Y<SP>2</SP>are -CR<SP>5</SP>- and when R<SP>5</SP>is the arbitrary substitutional group, adjacent R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>and/or R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are bonded, and a link which can form a substitutional group may be formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
