<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable each terminal to receive a video with a quality suitable for itself when a plurality of terminals different in characteristic receive the video simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitting terminal 100 divides hierarchical encoded data into channels by quality and bands at a channel division part 106, adds priority calculated by a priority calculation part 112 by using terminal information, and transmits the resulting data over another channel from a video transmission part 108. Further, a group list calculation part 114 calculates a group list wherein channels are grouped by quality and a group list transmission part 116 transmits the group list. A receiving terminal 150, on the other hand, determines a reception channel by a reception channel determination part 158 by using the inputted priority quality and received group list and a video reception part 160 receives a picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
