PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device flexibly arranging a driving machine having small dimension in a substantially whole region of a shaft over a cage and a counterweight freely and selectably in a way for saving a space. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for arranging the elevator device and the driving machines 1, 2, 3, 3', 4, and 40 of the elevator device. This elevator device is provided with the cage 11 and the counterweight 12 in the shaft 10. The elevator device is provided with the driving machines attached to a cross beam 8.
