PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and high-speed chip charging device for a chip tape while omitting a intermediate means such as a chip piece-by-piece separation means, and a handling means between a feeder and a mount so far necessary. SOLUTION: The chip charging device A has a carrying means 4 to intermittently carry a chip tape to a part immediately before a forward end part of a feeder 7 to carry one row of chips t so that charging holes 1 in a mount 1 of the chip tape face each other. In the chip charging device A, front portions of the charging holes 2 are inclined low and rear portions thereof are inclined high so that a front end part of the leading chip t is made to collide with and stop by a rear inner surface 2a of the charging hole 2 in the mount. A charging piece 5 having a front side forming a stopper part 5a to stop the leading chip t and a lower side forming a push-down part 5b to push down and charge the chip t in the charging hole 2 is provided in a vertically movable manner by the set dimension, and a suction means 6 to suck the leading chip t in the direction of the charging hole 2 by the suction force is provided between the charging piece 5 and the carrying means 4.
