PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for securing operability with respect to an external operation member of a timepiece while preventing the operation member and a component engaged therewith from being damaged and preventing the operation member from being erroneously operated. SOLUTION: This timepiece 10 comprises a timepiece body including a timepiece case 11, and the external operation member 15 attached to the timepiece body rotatably and movably in its axis line direction and equipped with a substantially columnar operation part 15A. The timepiece body is characterized by having an opening part 14b for laying bare an outer circumferential face 15Aa of the operation part 15A in a partial angular range around its axis line, and being integrally provided with a protection part 14 covered in the remaining angular range.
