PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems of a conventional basement waterproofing method: water infiltration into basement cannot be completely prevented though a heat insulating plate coated with a waterproof agent is arranged, in principle, on the periphery of a concrete outer wall; and the heat insulating plate or the like is high in cost. SOLUTION: There is provided a new basement waterproofing method according to which a foaming agent which is an inexpensive chemical solution is filled into a space between earth and the concrete outer wall or infiltrated into cavities in the earth per se, to thereby seal the space or the cavities. Thus the concrete outer wall portion cuts off water so as to prevent moisture in the earth or moisture from above the ground from infiltrating into a concrete wall material and entering the interior of the basement. Further the basement constructed according to the present method is excellent in heat insulation and soundproofing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
