PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for automatically dropping a spherical material with which a gel-coated seed can be accurately dropped in a short time without damaging the gel-coated seed. SOLUTION: The device for automatically dropping the spherical material is constituted of a delivering drum unit 30 obtained by sandwiching a disk-shaped delivering drum 42 between an A-plate 37a and a B-plate 37b so as to be rotatable, and a C-plate 37c installed in the side face of the delivering drum unit 30 and equipped with a drive device, or the like, for driving the delivering drum 42. The gel-coated seed 50 is fed from a hopper part 34 of the delivering drum unit 30 to a recess part 42a for the gel-coated seed, formed on the outer periphery of the delivering drum 42, and the fed seed is carried to the lower part of the delivering drum unit 30 according to the rotation of the delivering drum unit 30, and dropped from the delivering part 51 at the lower part. The occurrence of bridge formation at the bottom part of the hopper part 34 is prevented by the swing of a swinging plate 35 installed in the hopper part 34. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
