PURPOSE: An apparatus for processing an image, a method for processing an image, and a computer-readable recording medium having an image processing program are provided to simplify constitution and display a clear image in converting a scene. CONSTITUTION: A statistical value operating element(10) performs statistical processing to image data for generating statistical value data representing statistical values. A scene detecting element detects conversion of a scene based on the image data. A compensating parameter operating element(20) performs weight granting to the statistical value data of a plurality of frames for operating compensating parameters. An image compensating element(30) processes image compensation to the image data based on the compensating parameters.
