PURPOSE: A display method and a display system are provided to display an image without a limitation on an aspect ratio of a display unit. CONSTITUTION: In case that an image has a first aspect ratio while a display device(26) has a second aspect ratio, image data to the image is received. The image data is buffered. A frame of the image is generated in the first aspect ratio. A second sub-frame is spatially offset in one direction from a first sub-frame for defining the first sub-frame and the second sub-frame in the second aspect ratio. A display image of the first sub-frame and a display image of the second sub-frame are optically scaled by a projection optics(96) in one direction. The first sub-frame is displayed at a first position alternately with the second sub-frame displayed at a second position which is spatially offset from the first position.
