PURPOSE: A driver apparatus of a light source for a display device is provided to prolong a lifetime of a lamp and to stabilize lighting of the lamp by making a positive wave peak and a negative wave peak of a ramp current smooth. CONSTITUTION: According to the driver apparatus of a light source for a display device displaying image data on the basis of a horizontal synchronous signal, an oscillator(940) generates a reference signal having a fixed frequency. A controller(930) generates a driving signal synchronized to the reference signal and then outputs it. A power supply turns on the light source by applying an AC voltage synchronized with the driving signal to the light source. And a phase difference detection circuit(950) detects a phase difference between the driving signal or a branch signal branched from the driving signal and the horizontal synchronous signal and then generates a corresponding detection signal. The oscillator changes the frequency of the reference signal on the basis of the detection signal.
