摘要 PURPOSE: A WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) metro optical communication network is provided to use an optical fiber whose direct modulation and negative distribution value is properly controlled, thereby reducing distortions of an optical signal while preventing an error without deteriorating performance. CONSTITUTION: A transmission end has transmitters for directly modulating lights into optical signals having different wavelengths and for outputting the optical signals, and a multiplexer for multiplexing the optical signals, respectively, and for transmitting the multiplexed optical signals. A receiving end has a demultiplexer for receiving the multiplexed signals to demultiplex the signals by wavelength and for outputting the demultiplexed signals, and receivers for inputting the demultiplexed signals. An optical fiber connects the multiplexer with the demultiplexer, and has a negative distribution value and a positive distribution inclination.
