摘要 PURPOSE: A device for measuring temperature of an optical recording apparatus and a method therefor are provided to predict temperature of an apparatus from an APC(Auto-Power Control) output for maintaining an output power of a laser diode, and to set operational values of the apparatus according to the predicted temperature, thereby measuring the temperature without using a temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION: An APC block(201) monitors the intensity of radiation of an optical pickup(200), and outputs a power control signal for maintaining an output power of a laser diode. A controller(202) obtains temperature information proportionate to the power control signal of the APC block(201), and resets an operational value of an optical recording apparatus according to the obtained temperature information. The controller(202) comprises as follows. The first table stores the temperature information proportionate to the power control signal of the APC block(201). The second table stores operational setup information of the optical recording apparatus.
