PURPOSE: A coin type electric double layer capacitor and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to increase operating voltages of the capacitor by permitting a single cell to include two or more pairs of electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A coin type electric double layer capacitor(10) comprises a case(11) including an upper case(12) and a lower case(13) coupled with each other; gaskets(14a,14b) tightly contacting the inner wall of the lower case such that the gaskets prevent leakage of electrolyte; an intermediate plate(15) fixed at the gasket(14a) such that the intermediate plate divides the inside of the case into a plurality of spaces(S1,S2); and electrode pairs(2a,2b,2c,2d) arranged to contact the upper and lower surfaces of the spaces, and separated in two directions by insulating separators(3). |
