The present invention relates to the production of ophthalmic lenses and more specifically to production of photosensitive and photochromatic ophthalmic lenses; having the property of including a long service life photosensitive composition, which can be applied by a process which does not require the use of molds that easily confers a specific degree of darkening. The process itself allows the application of the photosensitive material without the need of a mold, as well as the darkening degree control of such material. The curable composition consists of a mixture of a monomer, a photochromatic or photosensitive substance, solvent and catalyst substances resulting from the monomer polymerization, and oxidant substances; being characterized in that the monomer is a styrene monomer, the solvent and catalyst substances consist of acetone, ether, methyl ethyl ketone and methyl alcohol, and the antioxidant substances consist of tinovin, irganox, and graduated shimaforb.
