PURPOSE: A method for preventing a call error of a mobile communication terminal is provided to recognize a connection to an emergency call telephone caused by a key input mistake of a user, and to inform the user of the recognized connection, thereby preventing an unnecessary emergency call from being transmitted. CONSTITUTION: When a send key is pressed, a system compares a called number with an emergency telephone number. If the called number is decided as the emergency telephone number, the system compares whether length of the called number is identical with that of the emergency telephone number. If so, the system attempts an emergency call. If the length of the called number is not identical with that of the emergency telephone number, the system generates an alarm. If a call is confirmed as an emergency call, the system attempts the emergency call with the called number. If the called number is confirmed to be generated by a key input error, the system completes the attempt of the call.
