PURPOSE: A method for storing audio data in an AV device is provided to convert audio data into an MPEG format and a sampling rate, and to store the converted audio data in an AV device having a hard disk or a flash ROM, thereby increasing a storage time of the hard disk or the flash ROM. CONSTITUTION: An optical media player decides whether an inserted medium is a CD-DA(Digital Audio) music CD(S200). If so, the player displays the file name of audio data stored in file type and additional information on a menu screen(S210). If a DVD medium is inserted, the player reproduces the medium to display(S220). The player selects the file name of the audio data on the menu screen(S300), and sets a compression format and a sampling rate for the audio data corresponding to the selected file name(S400). The player compresses the audio data according to the compression format and the sampling rate, and stores the compressed audio data in a hard disk drive(S500). |
